UNIQUE CREEK HOMESTEAD SEEDS: All of our seeds are grown right here on our Unique Creek Homestead and not sourced from elsewhere. All seeds are collected each growing season and are 1-year old or less, stored in air-tight Mason jars. Seeds are harvested and labeled for storage each season, one plant/seed type at a time so seeds do not get mixed by accident during the process! The seeds we use at the start of each growing season come from the exact same seeds we sell.

ABOUT THESE SEEDS: The Chocolate Naga Brain is a very hot chili pepper that's a cross between the Dorset Naga and the Brain Strain 7 pod. It's a member of the Capsicum chinense species and has a Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) rating of 1,000,000. Here are some characteristics of the Chocolate Naga Brain: AppearanceThe pepper is dark brown, wrinkled, and gnarly, with bumpy skin. The pods start green and ripen to brown. FlavorThe pepper has an instant Naga flavor with a bit of sweetness, then a fruity, slightly floral taste. UsesThe pepper can be used in Indian food or cut into thin slices and sprinkled over dinner. It can also be dried and powdered for long-term use, allowing you to infuse meals with its potent heat and aroma year-round. PlantThe plant can grow over one meter in a pot and is considered prolific, producing an abundance of pods that mature early in the season. It prefers full sun, loam soil, and moderate watering.
 

Sow seeds in flats or pots 8 to 10 weeks prior to the expected outdoor planting date. Sow them shallowly, around 1/4 inch deep. Hot peppers, and especially super-hot peppers, have a well-earned reputation for being finicky to germinate, but you can increase germination rates by providing bottom heat (highly suggested).
