Peach Habanero peppers are a rare variety of the traditional Orange Habanero pepper, known for their peach-colored pods and spicy flavor:

  • Appearance

Peach Habanero peppers are smooth, shiny, and bright, ripening from green to a light salmon color. They are typically bullet-shaped and slightly wrinkled.

  • Flavor

Peach Habanero peppers have a fruity, citrusy, and tropical flavor with a little sweetness.

  • Heat level

Peach Habanero peppers range from 100,000 to 350,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), which is about 70 times hotter than an average Jalapeño.

  • Uses

Peach Habanero peppers are popular in hot sauces, salsas, and powders. You can also make a Peach Habanero Jelly.

  • Growing

Peach Habanero plants are compact and bushy, growing only to about 1-1/2 ft. tall. They are great for container plantings and patio gardens.

  • Origin

The origin of the Peach Habanero is a mystery.

To reduce the heat of a habanero pepper, you can remove the seeds and membranes, or roast or sauté it.
