The Death Dragon pepper is a cross between the Death Spiral and Dragon's Breath peppers, and is known for being extremely hot:

  • Appearance

    Death Dragon peppers can start off soft and green, and change to orange or blood-orange. They can vary in shape, with some taking on a barrel shape and others growing upwards. 

  • Flavor

    Some say Death Dragon peppers have a sweeter-hot flavor. 

  • Side effects

    Eating a Death Dragon pepper can cause mouth burning and numbness, and in rare cases, vomiting and headaches. 

  • Growing

    Death Dragon peppers need well-draining soil, full sun, and average moisture. They can be started indoors at least six weeks before planting out, and should be transplanted when they are 8 inches tall.
